

The ‘Renaissance’ fashion at Niathu Resort successfully marked the debut of North-east India Academy of Performing Arts (NIAPA) on Friday evening. The fashion glitterati saw a mixture of crowd including political leaders led by the CM, senior army officials, government officials and others.
The show was divided into three sequences namely traditional Naga attire, Street fashion and a presentation styled by Eric Sommy, Delhi. Addressing the gathering at the outset of the function, CM Rio lauded the efforts of organisers for bringing about such a show. Maintaining that it was a bold step to put such a show, Rio remarked that Naga youth had huge talents and potential but needed to be nurtured. He lauded the NIAPA set up for creating platform and opportunity for the youth.

Asserting that the government will continue providing support, Rio pointed out that there was lot of money to be made in the entertainment sector.
The other highlights of the programme included special performance by Psatila and Naga Idol 2010 Renbeni. (Staff Reporter)
