Training on piggery management held

A two-day, training on piggery management, maize production and exposure trip for various SHG groups of Wokha block was concluded Tuesday at ICAR, KVK Jharnapani, Dimapur.
Organized by DRDA Wokha a total of 33 SHG members, village council chairmen from Chukitong, Wozhuro-Ralan and Wokha attended the training.
During the exposure trip the participants visited integrated farm KVK Dimapur, piggery and poultry farms at Dimapur. Topic on piggery management by Dr. Ebibeni Ngullie SMS (animal science) drew a positive response from the participants.
Number of questions starting from rearing and piggery managements were raised by the participants. One of the village council chairmen termed the topic on piggery management as satisfactory.
“Through this programme we have gained and learnt a lot on piggery, and its benefits”, said one of the participants. Resources persons Chongtham Robin Singh SMS agronomy KVK Dimapur and James Kikon SMS agronomy KVK Dimapur gave a presentation on package and practice of maize to the participants.
Exposure trip to various places was led by Nyamo Ezung UDA Wokha-Ralan and Nchumthung Ngullie DPO DRDA, Wokha.
