One person was killed and three others injured when unidentified miscreants lobbed an IED at a shop at 3rd Mile near ARTC Thursday at around 2.20 p.m. Two motorcycle- borne attackers hurled the bomb inside M/S Y. Enterprise belonging to one Pankanj Jain. According to PRO Dimapur police, the deceased was identified as one Niranjan Das (60), driver shop owner,who succumbed to his injuries at Civil Hospital Dimapur. The three injured— Jalak Das (39), manager of the shop; two customers- Kelethuto Khazo (40) and his brother Asa Khazo (30) from Jakhama Village, were rushed to Civil Hospital Dimapur for medical treatment. Their conditions were stated to be out of danger. PRO said, preliminary investigations revealed that the incident was a result of a clash between two factions of the “NSCN (K) over taxation”. Both factions, the PRO said were supposedly claiming legitimacy over illegal taxation. Police have identified the possible suspects, but refused to divulge details pending investigations. . A case has been registered at Diphupar police station, PRO said and added that a hunt was on to nab the culprits.
