Good news for movie buffs. The much awaited theater ‘Eastern Talkies’ has been finally launched at Subong Shopping Mall, Mokokchung. Thanks to the three young entrepreneur friends Jongpongchiten, Imnajungshi and Bendangtemsu. While interacting with this correspondent, the trio said the theatre, constructed at a cost of nearly 30 lakhs, can accommodate about eighty persons. The theatre, a ‘smoking free’ zone, would screen three shows daily. Alcohol and other illicit intoxicants are banned inside the theatre. Ironically, the present movie hall ‘Eastern talkies’ stands at the same building that once housed a cinema hall believed to be one of the, oldest cinema halls in Nagaland. It may be mentioned that Jongpongchiten and Imnajungshi are the co-owners and proprietor of Subong Shopping Mall.
