Some of the parents of those candidates who were to appear in the JNVST 2011 have expressed disappointment over the Jawaharlal Nehru Vidyalaya (JNV) authorities barring their children from sitting for the examination for Dimapur district on Sunday. JNVST 2011 for Dimapur district- Medziphema, Niuland and Kushiabill was conducted Sunday at Government Higher Secondary School, Nagarjan (Kuda village). Out of 168 enrollments, 85 students appeared for the selection test. On Sunday, thirteen students who had gone to appear the JNVST were shocked to find that the examination notice board contained a list of names of those who have been barred from appearing the examination. They said their names and roll numbers were listed among those barred even though they were issued with exam admission cards. The notice on the examination board stated: “The following application forms were rejected after submission of last date by CBSE. L 0169- Kavika, A0170- Nitesh, P0171- Kaholi, L0172- Joy Sema, P0173- Amentoly, L0174- Viloto, L0175-Anguka, L0175- Aomeren, 0177, 0178, 0179, 0180 and 0181”. Surprised with their children names being rejected, the parents have demanded from the authorities why it was not disclosed to them in advance before the selection test. When contacted Mukesh, who is in-charge of the selection test at Dimapur, said the thirteen students had submitted their applications form very late after the last date of scrutiny, though the JNV Dimapur still forwarded their applications to CBSE. Mukesh said he even tried to contact CBSE and JNV Shillong about the rejection of the 13 students before the commencement of the selection test on Sunday morning, but could not be succeed. He said the names were pasted so as to inform the students when they came for the examination. On the issue of admit cards, he said that JNV Dimapur issued the admit cards however, the names and roll numbers of the candidates from 0169 to 0181 was not in the attendance list provided by the CBSE as they submitted their forms after expiry of the date of scrutiny. The last date for forms submission was September 30, 2010 and the selection test was supposed to be held on April 2011. However, the selection test was postponed by CBSE due to some problem and was conducted only on Sunday.
