Kohima Village Students Union(KVSU) on Tuesday led by Mhasimhalie Mathew Yhome, vice president and his colleagues visited Government Higher Secondary School (GHSS),Seikhazou and interacted with managing faculty and the students. Stating that the visit to the school was of twin purpose, the vice president said KVSU decided to come out with code of conducts for students and campaign to keep Kohima village clean and pure. Elaborating on six point code of conducts for students, Mathew Yhome said that no students should use mobiles or any electronics gadgets in the classroom and school premises, consumption of any intoxicants such as alcohol, drugs, tobacco, correction fluids, dendrites or any ban items etc., in the school premises or within the jurisdiction of Kohima village would be strictly prohibited, loitering of students within the jurisdiction of Kohima village in school uniform without any official purpose would be detained, any type of misbehavior in terms of threatening teachers /school mates or at the same time bullying them will be strictly dealt with, driving vehicles to school in school uniform is prohibited and besides all these, any in-disciplinary act of the students in the school premises or within the jurisdiction of Kohima village would be strictly prohibited. Briefing on keeping Kohima village clean and pure campaign, the vice president disclosed that KVSU would be installing three waste bins in the school compound. He also listed out the “Do’s and don’ts” and called upon the students to keep in mind the following points – make sure that all the wastes are thrown in the waste bins, make sure that waste bins are not damaged even in the slightest way, in case of any person misusing the waste-bins immediately report to the Principal or any concern teacher. KVSU said waste bins or garbage bags (Black polythene) should be removed and taken around for dumping with the permission of the Principal. Further, KVSU would be making frequent visit to school to keep in touch with the progress of the usage of waste bins and also reminded the students to practice the habit of throwing waste to waste-bins. Earlier, Rukuohenuo, headmistress , GHSS Seikhazou gave a brief introduction and welcomed the KVSU officials.
