Green ATI movement

Administrative training institute, Nagaland, the premier training centre of the state located at Kimho, in the outskirts of Kohima city has been initiating various activities. Besides the training of government officials other activities such as landscaping, interior designing, etc are moving in full swing. Plantation is one major initiative taken up during this season. 
The officers and staff under the leadership of the Director are divided into three working groups, viz- St. Thomas Group for approach road, led by Dr.S.Rongsen Longkumer and Neitho Rutsa; St.Peter Group for the whole area inside the main compound, with an Orchard led by L Youdang Jamir and Menuovo ü and St. John Group below the Hostel block with an Orchard, led by N. Moa Longkumer and Amongla.
Dr. Hovithal N. Sothu, State Coordinator, DMC administrative training institute in a press release said, every Wednesday social work is being done, where cleaning and plantation of trees and flowers are carried out on a competition mode.
 Altogether the groups have already planted about 1500 sapplings this year in and around ATI Campus, which includes two orchards.
The different varieties of trees planted are- Foxtail Palm, Rain Tree, Shrish (Women tongue),Indian Rose Chestnut tree (Nahor), Flame tree (Gulmohur), Yellow, Green and White Ficus, Ficus(Weeping fig),Thuja, Bottle brush, Golden, Blue and Silver pines, Bokul, and fruits- Sapota(Chiku), Oranges, Grapes, Apple,Banana, Pomogranate, Custard Apple,Fugi Apple, Black berries, Peach, Plum, Peach and flowers . A small Green House nursery has also been constructed for rearing small seedlings of varied species of fruits, flowers and trees.
