Turning Point Organisation (TPO) Mon conducted four-days workshop on Entrepreneurship Development program (EDP) on July 19-22 for school dropouts, vocational trainees under the theme ‘Self reliance’ with lead district manager SBI Mon and inspector district industrial centre Mon.
While delivering his keynote address, director TPO stated it was the first time such programme was conducted at Mon district and observed it as an opportunity for dropouts to have professional training for self reliance by choosing a particular trade such as computer, tailoring and mobile cell repairing. He also urged the trainees to work hard and be sincere and devoted to their work. Resource person led by district manager SBI Mon urged the trainees to work sincerely with determination and to reach the goal, by practicing the habit of saving money. He also highlighted some of the schemes available at SBI for trained youth. Resource person inspector, DIC encouraged the participants to have a practical skill in the chosen trade.
She also briefed them on schemes like PMEGP that are available, adding it would be best for trainees to start a business than to ask for government financial assistance and support. The program also created awareness among participants on HIV and AIDS and STI/RTI and the route of transmission and preventive measures. Further, misconception and doubt were clarified through group discussion.
