Keep culture alive, says Chuba Chang

MLA, P. Chuba Chang on Saturday called upon the Chang community to preserve their rich culture and tradition so as to keep it alive. Speaking at ‘Naknyulum’ festival as special guest, at CKS hall Tuensang, Chuba Chang said one should ‘forgive and forget’ and restore peaceful co-existence amongst the people through the celebration of Naknyulum festival.
He also recalled the past culture where it lacked respect and called upon the people to proceed to a new era of culture civilization for the benefit of the society and urged the tribal leaders to organize festivals to keep cultural traditions alive and protect them from fading away. Deputy Commissioner Tuensang, Y.L Jami, IAS, also spoke on the celebration.
The celebration was attended by DIG Assam Rifles Tuensang, S.P. Tuensang, various administrative officers, tribal leaders and well wishers.
Brief history of ‘Naknyulum’ festival was delivered by S.Y. Sanglee DTO. Flute (musical piece) recital by CTS, special number by Bumo & friend and Naknyu games such as spinning of top (Yan) etc., were some of the highlights of the programme. ‘Naknyulum’ festival was organized by Chang Khulei Setshang.
