NSCN (IM) asked to vacate Tirap, Changlang

The NSCN/GPRN (K) has condemned the “anti-Naga activities of IM gang” at Tirap district and asked them to abandon “anti-people activities” and vacate Tirap and Changlang immediately.
“The IM cadres who have intruded into Tirap district under the pretext of Naga National Movement survived on the noble donation of Naga people in Tirap District, and yet they continue their anti-Naga activities upon their donors (contributors)”, stated a press release issued by NSCN/GPRN (K) MIP.
The release also stated that since “Tirap and Changlang were the birthplace of Naga Army of the two Naga district, they have been stationed there comfortably with their own people”, adding “IM who are mostly blood thirstier keep on attacking people’s army under the distraction of the adversaries”.
The release also stated that on July 5, IM cadres attacked the Naga Army at Kabu village but was “accurately revolted back” and again on July 11 the IM attacked Naga Army from two directions at New Kothing village but managed to kill six IM cadres led by one “Lieut Athing” and wounded 15.
The MIP further added that on July 29, the IM gang had attacked the Naga Army stationed at Longleng village from two directions but the latter managed to retaliate and killed one IM officer.
Stating the IM has “no issue in Tirap and Changlang when their leaders ruled out integration and Sovereignty”, it questioned as to why IM cadres were stationed at these places when their activities “displayed anti-peace and anti-re-conciliation”.
It stated the people of Tirap particularly New Kothing Village have witnessed “anti-people activities of the IM where three leaders of the village had been beaten for sheltering Naga Army in the village” and “huge fine imposed on the villagers” for the ammunitions fired upon the Naga Army.
The statement said as per the present report, three village leaders who were beaten up by “IM gang” were in a serious condition and admitted at Dibrugarh hospital.
