ATMA Phek division conducted a day long exhibition cum competition on July 29 at Phek town and also a Farmers Friend sensitization program with Mikha Lomi, DC and also chairman ATMA Governing Board (GB) as the chief guest. The program was organized by the Women Welfare Society Phek Town Baptist Church under Public Private Partnership (PPP) mode sponsored by ATMA Phek. The exhibition cum competition was divided into seven categories namely; fruits, vegetables, flowers, spices, pulses, cereals and special sections with 1st prize `2000, 2nd `1500, 3rd `1000 and consolation prizes of `300 each. Speaking on the occasion, the chief guest stressed that the potentiality of high value and low volume crops should by earmarked for commercial cultivation in the district.
Further, project director ATMA explained about the duties and function of the Farmers Friend (FF) under the organizational setup of ATMA in the district.
Meanwhile, Mikha Lomi gave away cell phones and honorarium to the FFs representing Meluri, Sekruzu and Kikruma blocks, IT logistic support items to ATMA supporting staff and prizes to the winners of the Phek farmers.
