Summary revision of electoral rolls

Election Commission of India has directed the state to take up special summary revision of electoral rolls with reference to January, 2012 as the qualifying date. As per the programme, draft publication of rolls would be on October 1, 2011 (Saturday) while period for filling of claims and objections would be carried out from October 1 to November 1. 
An official bulletin informed that reading of relevant part/ section of photo electoral rolls in gram sabha/ local bodies and RWA meetings etc. and verification of names would be held on October 8 and 11.
Special campaign dates with booth level agents of political parties for receiving claims and objections would be on October 9, 16 and 23 while disposal of claims and objections will be on December 1.Updating the database, merging of photographs, updating the control tables and preparation and printing of supplementary list would be from December 1 to 31. Final Publication of electoral rolls will be made on January 5, 2012.
