Monthly district planning and development board meeting of Wokha district was held on August 9 at DC’s Conference Hall Wokha under the Chairmanship of Y. Patton, Parliamentary Secretary for Geology & Mining, Irrigation & Flood Control and Border Affairs and Chairman DPDB Wokha.
Deputy Speaker NLA, Ralanthung Yanthan and Parliamentary Secretary for Prisons, Home guards, Fire & Emergency Services ,W. Kithan also attended the meeting.
The meeting began with reviewing last DPDB meeting minutes and welcomed new members namely, Nokchasashi SDO (C) Wokha; District Employment Officer, R. Oren Ngullie; SDO (C) Ralan, Kethosituo Sekhose; SDO (C) Wokha, Albert Ezung; District Agricultural Officer, Peter Yanthan and District Transport Officer to the DPDB.
The house resolved to approve schemes under LADP 2011-2012 for Wokha District as all schemes and projects were prepared according to the guidelines.
The House also approved the constitution of Implementing Committee for four (4) Assembly Constituencies as follows. (a) 37 AC EAC Chukitong Convener, BDO Chukitong as member. (b) 38 AC – ADC Wokha Convener and E.E R&B and District Urban Officer Wokha as members. (c) 39 AC- SDO (C) Sanis Convener, DHO Wokha and SDO R&B as members. (d) 40 AC – ADC Bhandari Convener, SDO (C) and E.E R&B Baghty as members.
The Deputy Commissioner also requested the Implementing Committee members to visit sites of schemes and projects as they are of public utility and importance.
The House approved for shifting of Sub-Treasury Office Baghty to Bhandari ADC (HQ) and recommended for creation of SDO (Electrical) Office at Bhandari, where the Chairman requested the E.E (E) to submit technical back up/proposals in the next meeting.
The House deliberated at length on land acquisition/requisition and execution of agreement with landowners for various Government Offices in the District.
The Deputy Commissioner while apprising on this matter requested all departments that, any proposals for acquisition of land and execution of agreement with land owners should be carried out as per government guideline and procedure and consult the Land Acquisition Committee to avoid complication in future.
ADC Wokha, Anthony Ngullie also added that to avoid encroachment, proper boundary wall should be maintained and to ensure that Land Records are properly maintained and also requested all HoDs under the District to Submit a copy of their Land Records /documents.
