ENSF to proceed with phase-3 stir

August 14, 2011 | by admin

ENSF Saturday affirmed to initiate third phase of agitation, saying the government has failed to appropriately address and fulfil all the five-point charter of demands it had placed. The federation has however lauded the government’s initiative to address some of its demands.

According to ENSF statement, it had received a letter of decision from the director of school education on August 13 wherein the department stated it was making an exercise to redeploy all regularized bogus teachers, who did not belong to eastern Nagaland, to be posted out from the four districts. The ENSF said the department also assured that none of the sanctioned posts of the teachers against the four districts would be taken away to other districts and post created under SSA/RMSA (both graduate and under graduate) against the four districts and recruitment to those posts would be made for candidates hailing from the four districts of the Eastern Nagaland.

It said department was also stated to be making exercise to advertise all teacher posts sanctioned the eastern Nagaland within one month and recruitment would be done for the candidates hailing from the four districts.
The department, in view of the above assurances, requested the federation to withdraw the phase-wise agitation, the ESNF said. However, it demanded from the government to fulfil the other three demands – maximum of teacher posts (both GTs and PTs) of new created under SSA Nagaland be given to eastern Nagaland so as to maintain equilibrium of teachers across the state.

The problem of 1500-1600 teachers transferred out along with the post (both GT and PT) from four districts to other districts leading to acute shortage of teachers in eastern Nagaland schools has not been fulfilled as demanded, the ENSF said.

ENSF also said that department in a letter to its office on August 13 did not specifically mention government order No. EDS/1-7/2008, Dated Kohima, January 9, 2009, that all vacancies arising in eastern Nagaland shall be filled up by the six inhabitant tribes and that no posts shall be transferred out of the districts along with the incumbent. It however added that education department had so far never implemented the above order.
The ENSF, meanwhile, has appealed to thegeneral public of eastern Nagaland to extend fullest cooperation to its stand
