The Phek Area Public Organisation (PAPO) held its office dedication cum general meeting on August 11 at PTC Office Complex with Sovenyi, president, Chakhesang Public Organisation as guest speaker.
PAPO president, Zashevoyi Lohe in his introductory speech expressed gratitude to Kuzholuzo, minister for health and family welfare for sponsoring the office furniture. District child protection officer also spoke on the occasion and gave a brief outline of the departmental functions.
President, CPO, Sovenyi spoke on various issues like backward status of the Chakhesang, bogus appointment of teachers, 33% reservation of women in local municipalities that are confronting the Naga society.
He also lamented the loss of traditional values in the society and challenged the gathering to instill upon the younger generations the values of honesty, hard working and sincerity.
Some of the public leaders who attended the programme were Vejoyi Vero, ex-minister, Chekhutso, ex-MLA, Z. Nyusietho Nyuthe, ADC Phek, Shevotso Rhakho, chief advisor, PTC, Kupota Khesoh, ex-chairman PTC and VCCs and VDBs under PAPO.
