Phek Sub-Region (PSR) of Federal Government of Nagaland (FGN) celebrated the 65th Naga Independence Day celebration at Phek Village on August 14 with Shevohu Keyho, “Kilo Kilonser” FGN as the chief guest.
The formal function was chaired by leacy, Chakhesang Region Nushehu Hoshi followed by observing of obituary references. Nuchicho Venuh, pastor, PVBC read the scripture and invoked God’s blessing.
The day was enlightened with indigenous tune presented by Shevozo Soho and co and indigenous entertainment presented by Phek Village Youth Society (PVYS) and Phek Village Women Society (PVWS) respectively.
Leaders of different frontals from different corners attended the historic occasion. Meanwhile, National message from NNC President Adino Phizo was read out by the chairman. Note of gratitude was proposed by Niesuyi Huire Razou Peyu PSR while Kuzhohu Soho Pastor CRC, Phek Village proposed a closing prayer followed by a mass feast.
NNC Sumi region: Naga National Council (NNC) Sumi region celebrated 64th Naga Independence Day on August 14 at Chekiye Village. Speaking on the occasion, president NNC Sumi region Khehoto V. Zhimo encouraged the parent body and other NNC leaders to be sincere and humble and also to forgive each other’s past mistakes. He further urged the leaders to stick to May 16, 1951 plebiscite which he said was Naga’s generation day. Zhimo also appreciated FNR and Baptist World Alliance for backing and supporting Naga Reconciliation. Meanwhile, Zhimo said that NNC Sumi region would pray for NNC leaders and other collective leaders who are fighting for Naga Independence.
