Hindu Mandir Society, (HMS) Kohima has extended support to the mass-movement spearheaded by Ahimsa Ke Pujari (believer in non-violence) and veteran Gandhian Anna Hazare to check the rampant corruption “from prime minister’s office passing through group of ministers, members of parliament and executives percolating down to the bottom.”

A press release issued by Hindu Mandir Society secretary Jagdamba Mall stated that corruption had engulfed the judiciary wherein even chief justices of various high courts and former chief justices of Bharatvarsh were allegedly involved in corruption.
Hindu Mandir Society stated that because of corruption, black money was “bulging day in and day out and culprits are found roaring” due to absence of appropriate law and lack of will power in union government, and it has adversely affected the over-all morality and piety in social life of Bharatiya Samaj.

Hindu Mandir Society also stated that Jan Lokpal Bill drafted by team Anna was capable of checking over 80 percent of corruption, but Delhi was not prepared to accept it “for obvious reasons” known to every awakened citizen of this country.
HMS appealed to government of Bharatvarsh not to trample the civil liberty and citizen’s right guaranteed in the Constitution.
The society also stated that arrest of Anna Hazare and action taken against his followers was purely a mockery of democracy and that central government had acted as a “dictator and autocrat.”

HMS also appealed to Naga society not to lag behind any more and urged apex organizations to come forward in support of mass movement led by Anna Hazare and his Jan Lokpal Bill.
