Trg on mushroom cultivation in Dmu

Department of urban development agency Dimapur organized a two- training on mushroom cultivation for the Self- Help Groups (SHGs) on August 17 and 18
While interacting with the trainees, the secretary district urban development agency and district urban agency officer, Dimapur, Chenithung Lotha said the objective of organizing the training was to open the eyes of the trainees and help them to develop entrepreneurship and to generate employment for self-sustainability.

He added that, mushroom has been widely accepted as delicacy in food items because of its rich nourishment and demand in the market.
Chenithung said, besides organizing such training for the Self Help Groups, the department in the district has been organising different activities for SHGs such as rearing on Vermi-culture, farming, marketing, handloom & handi-crafts, dry fish business.
The master trainer for the two-day included coordinators from livelihood empowerment, Linus Malangmie and Gabria Ganmai, who were professionally trained on sustainable agriculture and trained on mushroom cultivation at Allahabad Agriculture University.
