All Nagaland Co-operative Societies Federation (ANCSF) Thursday expressed dismay at the implementation of Integrated Co-operative Development Projects (ICDP) in three districts and accused the authority responsible of indulging in “random pick and choose of beneficiaries.”
ANCSF president R K Mero, in a release, stated that federation was closely watching the progress and implementation of the ongoing ICDP in Dimapur, Zunheboto and Mon districts, where the National Cooperative Development Corporation (NCDC) had reportedly sanctioned a total of Rs. 38 crore inclusive of loan and subsidy component.
The ANCSF said it was discouraged and unhappy to observe that even before the actual commencement of the second phase of implementation of ICDP, the authority responsible had floated the NCDC guidelines for selection of beneficiaries through random pick and choose of beneficiaries.
A good numbers of primary cooperative societies who have not completed three years maturity of registration were allowed to avail financial assistance in the 1st phase of ICDP. The federation accused authority of the department of imposing their decision upon the Project Implementation Team (PIT) for inclusion of pick and choose societies randomly.
The federation assured full cooperation and support to the department in ensuring successful implementation of Centrally Sponsored Schemes in the state. However, the ANCSF warned that it would not remain a silent spectator when things were “going wrong” in the department.
