Deputy Commissioner and Chairman of the District Health Society (DHS) Tuensang, T. Mhabemo Yanthan on Thursday said Nagaland being a welfare State, most requirements of the people were met by the government.
He was addressing a meeting with village health committee (VHC) members and village communitization council (VCC) members at CMO Conference Hall Tuensang.
He said communitization was an answer to many problems faced by the people in rural areas and as such the successful implementation of the aspects of communitization was a responsibility of the people and advised the members to use monitory funds judiciously and also asked them to use the power given by Government through communitization efficiently.
Also speaking on Communitization, a key to community health care’, deputy CMO Tuensang Dr. Thanghoi Lam stated that Communitization can only become a reality with the help of the people.
He said members of VHC and VCC held the ability to look into the needs of the people and should work towards maintaining a healthy lifestyle for the community stating that the main aims of the department was to reduce Infant Mortality Rate (IMR), Maternal Mortality Rate (MMR) and Total Fertility Rate (TFR). Earlier, short speeches on ‘My Communitization’ were delivered by Pangsha VHC member and Sotokur VHC member.
