Konyak Union (KU) Mon has appealed to chief minister Neiphiu Rio to create a post for mechanical engineer under mechanical department at Mon district as its headquarter
A press release issued by president S. Khoiwang Wangsa and joint secretary T. Pangmei Konyak stated that Mon town under assistant mechanical engineer alone covers Mon town, Chen, Aboi, Naganimora, Longshen, Tizit, Wakching, Mopong, Phomching, Longchim, Tobu and Monyakshu and due to the vastness of the area, it becomes impossible to cover all the areas.
They also stated that as these divisions operate from Mokokchung mechanical division including transactions such as repair/maintenance expenditure, staff salary, the efficiency and performance of machinery/machineries has been adversely affected, as a result of which the staff and general public face untold hardships due to the distance and communication problem.
