SDO Ralan interacts with village leaders

A meeting of all VCCs, GBs, VDB Secys of Ralan sub-division and Ralan area public leaders with new SDO (Civil) Ralan, Kethosituo Sekhose was held at Town Hall Ralan on August 20. The meeting was called by the SDO (Civil) to establish acquaintance between the administration, government departments, area leaders and the people.
The meeting was attended by the 2nd OC Ralan PS, the Post Commander NAP F ‘Coy Ralan, all DBs, GBs, VCCs, VDB Secys, President RALH, President RASU, Ralan Area Eloe Hoho, Border Peace Committee, Ralan area Dimapur Union, and Govt officials of Ralan sub-division.

Shortage of teachers in the schools, non-maintenance of the only arterial road connecting Ralan with Wokha and Dimapur, water supply in the hill section, restrictions on bringing in materials for construction/repair of private houses and even movement of people by the neutral forces, lack of proper medical facilities and border sensitivity were the main points deliberated at the meeting. The new SDO (C) replied that when petitions were received from the people, the grievances would be taken up with government through the established channels and even for writing petitions, he ensured that people would be given assistance, wherever required.

He also explained about thirteenth finance commission award for rural local bodies and the state specific needs and basic objectives of the grants and also encouraged the people of the area to make full use of the grants for development of the area.

It was also decided that regular visits to all villages under Ralan sub-division would be undertaken by the administration along with area leaders to take stock of situations and verify implementation of government programme.
Highlight of the day included distribution of cash awards by the administration to three GBs namely, Renthungo of Old Ralan, Ntheo of Woroku and Orenthung of Liphayan for their exemplary service to the government and the people of the area.
