Reacting to the press write-up published on August 16 by Diote, Chairman, Tsunthong, secretary, executive Council, and on August 15 by home dialect (Tikhir), the Yimchungru Baptist Boru Amukhongto (YBBA) clarified that such write-up was not based on reality.
Replying to TTC statement which read “Arrest YTC Leaders, Shifting of YTC and YBBA head quarter, Recognition of TTC,” YBBA, the apex body of 84 churches stated that arresting of YTC leaders demanded by TTC, TSU was unlawful and foolish and such group/organization should be disciplined by state government and punishable by customary law.
YBBA executive secretary A. Akhang in a press release stated that series of press statements published on August 16 in a local daily were all “factional clash” and therefore blaming the general public was “unjustifiable.”
YBBA also stated that YTC existed before Christianity and passions of YTC was meant for peace, unity and love. “The question of shifting of YTC and YBBA head quarter remain unquestionable as her head quarter was established in holy time and with proper documentation,” stated YBBA.
YBBA also said that history documented that YBBA mission centre at Shamator was established on March 9, 1959 with written Board “Yimchungrü Baptist Christian Centre” after the formation of Church Council on December 19, 1957 at Kiussor Village Baptist Church.
According to Yimchungru Baptist Boru Amukhongto , the official map documented that the land had been freely and permanently donated by S. Torepkiu and A. Pensokiu of Shamator village to establish YBBA Mission Centre witnessed by Kuban HD GB, Kiutsemong, ACM, Rekiumong GB, Mongla GB, Khentsemong DB, Pensokiu GB, Kheungkiu GB, Throngkiu GB, Rakokiu GB, Chung, GB of Shamator Village on behalf of giver and witnessed on behalf of receiver P. Monokiu. MLA, Yamakam HD, DB, Showuba, DB and K. Hopungkiu, executive, chairman YBBA.
Stating that establishment of Shamator was signed in the presence of D.S. Thapa, extra assistant commissioner, Shamator, on January 23, 1972, YBBA said individual or organization could claim its ownership when Yimchungrü Baptist Borü Amukhungto had sworn before God to establish God’s purpose on the land.
