The Nagaland Institute of IT & Multimedia (NIITM) held the first day of the 3-day animation explosion workshop at the institute, Dimapur on Thursday.
The first day kicked off with the introduction to the animated world where the importance of the ‘Maya’ software was stressed as the biggest and comprehensive tool in the making of 3D digital art and design.
Briefing the workshop, Tara Doughlas lamented that not many animators were found in the animated film production in Nagaland and expressed her wish for involvement of more young people.
Inspired by the traditional art work of Nagaland she has taken the Naga art concept as it offers a new, original, style and look for her current project. She also encouraged people to think of themselves and not necessarily run after jobs.
Come hornbill festival and witness the premiere of Naga animated 5minute film on Angami folklore with support granted by the state government for the completion of the film. The film is produced by Tara douglas, visiting British animator and Secretary of Adivasi Arts Trust- UK based charity dedicated for preserving and promoting an awareness of Indian tribal art and culture.
Advocate Chanmayo G. Aier, the chief guest at the inaugural programme said one must make use of the offers in life and grow as individual.
She also asked the participants to develop a positive attitude in learning, to take technologies to shape oneself and be able to leave something for society by sticking to their work.
Special number was presented by Naga Idol 7 final contestant Imtiba Pongen, welcome address by Rtd. Director of Higher & Technical Education, Dr. Rongsenrenla and acknowledgment by Moses Jamir.
Altogether 27 participants took part in the first day.
