Christian Aguilera’s lawyer has launched a scathing attack on a gossip website that printed a claim that the singer had abused her son.
The website MediaTakeOut accompanied the accusation with a picture of Max, three, with a black eye. The caption read: “Child abuse?? Christina Aguilera’s son is photo’d with a black eye!!!”
But the website had taken no steps to contact the Candyman star or her management to find out the cause of Max’s injury, prompting Christina’s lawyer Eric Greenspan to brand them “reckless and unconscionable”.
In a letter to the site, he wrote: “To imply that she [Aguilera] had something to do with this incident, without any investigation on your part whatsoever, is reckless and unconscionable. Christina is a wonderful mother and was not present in the park when Max fell and hurt himself.”
Not long after, the website removed the image.
On a brighter note, Christina was spotted having a meal with Cheryl Cole in Los Angeles earlier this month, prompting rumours the pair may be planning to work together.
She has also been confirmed for the line-up of the Michael Jackson tribute concert, along with JLS and Leona Lewis.
