A one-day Advocacy Campaign on HIV/AIDS was held on August 26 at DC’s Conference Hall Wokha with minister for agriculture, Dr. Chumben Murry as guest speaker.
The campaign was organized by Centre for Youth and Social Action and sponsored by Legislator’s Forum, Nagaland.
Addressing the function, Dr. Chumben urged the gathering to show concern and support the people living with HIV AND AIDS. He encouraged people not keep the message within oneself but spread the knowledge and awareness against the fight for HIV and AIDS. Taking a serious note on the high prevalence rate of HIV and AIDS in the district Dr. Chumben appealed to put more efforts against this deadly disease.
In the programme, Dr. Vinito L. Chishi highlighted on activities of LFA in the state and clinical coordinator Project Orchid, Dr. Joyce gave power point presentation on the objective and activities of Project Orchid.
Short speech was also delivered by Lochumi Lotha, counsellor WNP+, HIV/AIDS, STI basic information by director AYWO, Elhibemo Patton and scenario of HIV and AIDS in Wokha district by supervisor Integrated Counselling and Testing Centre (ICTC), Wokha district.
Advocacy programme with un-organized labours of Dimapur
DIMAPUR: Dimapur Network of People Living with HIV & AIDS (DNP+) with support from Nagaland State AIDS Control Society (NSACS) Kohima conducted an advocacy programme with un-organized labours of Dimapur on August 28 at Centre for Community Transformation, Bethesda Hall Walford, Dimapur.
During the programme, resource persons were Meyisangla, DPO DAPCU Dimapur, Dr. Temsu MO ICTC District Hospital Dimapur, Dr. Khelito DTO RNTCP Dimapur, Darshim from NNP+, Penesa and Lucy from DNP+.
More than 100 participants attended the programme and around 45 participants came forward for voluntary blood testing done by Mobile ICTC, Dimapur.
Earlier, the programme was presided by Avah, counselor DNP+ and Moa Phom, president DNP+ gave a welcome address and highlighted the purpose of the programme.
