A two-day bamboo shoot pickle making training was held at NBRC on the August 30 and 31.
The training was organized by the Nagaland Bamboo Development Agency (NBDA) and attended by 30 participants from 13 Self Help Group based in Nagaland.
The resource person for the training was Achut Kumar Borah, proprietor of Meghalee Food Products, Jorhat, and a winner of an award from the Ministry of Small and Medium entrepreneurs, Government of India.
Borah was accompanied by his wife Meghalee and two assistants.
In the two-day training, participants were taught seven different recipes for making bamboo-shoot pickle.
Along with pickle-making, participants were also given tips on food packaging, preservation and the marketing potential of the finished products.
