The 19th National Children’s Science Congress 2011, Kohima district level resource training was held on September 1 at Mezhür Higher Secondary School, Kohima with the theme ‘Land Resource: Use for Prosperity, Save for Posterity’ under the aegis of Nagaland Institute of Health, Environment and Social Welfare (NIHESW), Kohima.
The program was inaugurated by Dr. Inakhe Sumi, director Nagaland Institute of Health, Environment and Social Welfare (NIHESW) Kohima who emphasized on climate change and also requested the children present in the programme to create awareness in the community. Around 180 children and 18 teachers from schools around Kohima attended the program. The resource persons were Santu Thapa state coordinator NCSC Kohima, Vitsu Yhome program officer ENVIS Center Kohima and Rongsenkumla Lonchar, Bio-Tech officer DNA TERI club Kohima.
Meanwhile, this year, National Children’s Science Congress state level program would be held on October 20 and 21 at Town Hall, Zunheboto hosted by District Organising Committee, NCSC, Zunheboto where children from all over the state would participate.
Eight best children with their projects would be selected at the state level at Zunheboto for the 19th National Children’s Science Congress 2011 to be held at Jaipur, Rajasthan from December 27 to 31 and two best projects would represent the state to the Indian Science Congress to be held from January 3 to 7.
