Front line demonstration cum training held

ATMA Mon officials led by Joakting DPD, Subenthung DPD and Chaiwang Konyak conducted a Front Line Demonstration (FLD) cum training at Bumei village of Tobu Block under Mon District on August 18.

Resource person, N Subenthung Odyuo spoke on the importance of commercial aquaculture to uplift the rural socio-economy and also emphasized on the different modules involved in commercial aquaculture and the modus operandi.

He also discussed on the importance of diversified aquaculture and the huge potentiality of the state and Mon district in particular, and urged farmers to change their traditional view of fish rearing to scientific fish culture for more productivity.
 
Further resource person, Joakting Konyak spoke on integrated pest management in cereals and horticultural corps and on the affects of pests and how to control it by using simple methods rather than costly and harmful chemicals.
Around 35 farmers from Changlangsu, Myanakshu, Tobu village and town and Bumei villages attended the training.
