Tuensang DPDB meeting held

Tuensang district planning and development board (DPDB) meeting was held under the chairmanship of parliamentary secretary IPR, economics & statistics, R. Tohanba on September 23 at the conference hall of deputy commissioner Tuensang.

At a meeting, felicitation of HSLC and B. Sc Toppers awards were also arranged and awarded meritorious certificates and cash of `10,000/- each to the toppers- Chianmong Khiam who secured 5th position in HLSC 2010 from St. John Higher Secondary School Tuensang and Parimal Chandra Bhowmick for securing 1st position in B. Sc Nagaland University Examination 2011 from SCC Tuensang by the DPDB Tuensang.

Short speech was also delivered by DEO (Education), Tohoshe Sumi. The district level development activities were presented by agriculture, horticulture, the new system of giving departmental round-up activities in the district in every DP & DB meeting was introduced by the new chairman from the month of September. DAO (Agri), L. Butang gave a power point presentation about the activities of agricultural schemes and their implementation in the district and DHO (Horti), Imrong also gave power point presentation on Horticulture department while Dy. PD (ATMA), Dr. Vikshe Sumi briefed about the activities of ATMA in Tuensang district.

The following agenda were discussed in the meeting:- Construction of new mineral road from Tuensang HQ. to Konya village, in this regard, the EE, PWD (R&B) Ahoto Sema gave the verification reports and suggested for onward submission to the Geology & mining Department for approval and necessary action.

The following up-Gradation of schools – Sangkur GMS to that of GHS, Huker GMS to that of GHS and Mangko GMS to that of GHS were also discussed and approved. Provision of one M.I (Medical Inspection) room at SCC Tuensang put up by Principal SCC, the board discussed the matter and in the absence of CMO the matter could not be finalized by the board.
