NSS Day at Kohima Science College, Phek

NSS unit of the Kohima Science College, Jotsoma observed NSS Day on September 24. The special guest for the event was Dr. Joyce Z. Angami who spoke on the theme of the day ‘HIV & AIDS: Our Civil War’. 

She also distributed ‘Your Questions Answered: Know the Facts about HIV and AIDS’, a handbook published by the Overcoming Stigma and Discrimination Project. Yanger Longkumer, vice principal also exhorted the gathering.

Around 300 NSS volunteers and 8 lecturers and programme officers attended the function which was held in the college auditorium. Earlier during the day, the volunteers cleaned the college campus. From May to August this year, 23 volunteers donated blood in Bethel Medical Center, Oking Hospital, and Naga Hospital Authority. 

Meanwhile, the NSS units of Phek Govt. College and GHSS, Phek jointly observed NSS Day on September 24 at District Civil Hospital, Phek. The volunteers carried out sanitation drive by cleaning the hospital compound. The programme officers thanked the hospital authorities for their hospitality, cooperation and supervision.
