A meeting on ‘Gateway of Economic Growth’ for grass-root leaders of Rengma villages was organized by NSCB Tseminyu branch on October 1 at Town Hall Tseminyu.
Rajuselie Lhousa, vice chairman NSCB, while addressing the gathering, said the main aim of the meeting was to create awareness on banking literacy and gear-up towards covering every household of Rengma villages under financial inclusion.
He invited village councils to sign memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Bank in order to pull more loans to its members, and also assist the Bank in recovery in the event of failure from its members.
He exhorted village leaders to exhibit their functioning efficiently and transparently and see that its members enjoy maximum benefit from every source being made available by Government of Nagaland and cooperative bank, from which a village could see drastic economic growth within a short span of time.
He also offered to depute employees/staff to villages, if any village desired to avail on-the-spot opening of ‘No Frill’ saving account and gain more knowledge on prospects of banking.
Lalam Doungel, GM (Credit) from head office, in her keynote address, assured to facilitate credit to farmers.
The meeting was chaired by Obed Lorin, NSCB official.
Village council chairmen, VDB secretaries, GBs, cooperative societies (stakeholders), SHGs, farmer clubs, including Jwenbu Semp, President VDB association Tseminyu Block, Hillo Kent, chief advisor, Tseminyu town council attended the meeting.
