Parliamentary secretary, Social Welfare, Child and Women Development Chotisüh Sazo on Tuesday urged young people to take up self employment rather than depending on government jobs.
He challenged the youth to change their attitude and develop a new culture that would be beneficial to all and would improve the economy of the state.
Inaugurating the 13th branch office of Queensberry Foundation at High School area Kohima, Sazo said there were ample scopes of employment in sectors such as entrepreneurship.
For this, he said the state government was also trying to encourage youth to take up self employment projects. He maintained that the government dedicating each year to the youth, farmers and entrepreneurship proved it encourages self employment.
He further stated the government had sent thousands of youth outside the state to train in various skills and take up various vocational trainings.
With unemployment problem increasing in the Naga society, Sazo said the people’s attitude should change first, and that a visionary and innovative mind can plan big for the future.
Formed in August 2004, Queensberry Foundation is welfare NGO, founded by K. Aaron Quinker and administered by Rajesh Sahani as the executive director.
Queensberry Foundation assists local people and business community in granting marginal loans on daily replayment basis so as to harness the market potential and keep pace with the growing economic competition and also serve the needs of the community.
