All Nagaland Power Department Meter Readers & Bill Assistants’ Association has extended support to the demands made by All Nagaland Electricity Field Workers’ Association (ANEFWA).
The association, in a joint press note issued by its vice president Temsu Longkumer and joint secretary Ruokuovituo stated that it was “part and parcel” of ANEFWA’s demand for “genuine cause” which included regularization of 381 nos. of work-charged employees to fill vacancies; enhancement of risk allowance of work-charged employees from `50 to `300 at par with regular employees; and enhancement of uniform allowance from `500 to `700.
The association pointed out that in a “social welfare state” where government was mentor and guarantor of rights of its citizens, it was expected that the government would take serious note to fulfill “genuine demands” raised by ANEFWA at the earliest.
Declaring its solidarity to ANEFWA, All Nagaland Power Department Meter Readers & Bill Assistants’ Association stated that it would stand with the former in their cause, in any circumstance and face any eventuality.
