Traditional historic function at Unger Village

The traditional historic function held every 30 years for Chungli Putu Menden Atsung, of the Ao Nagas, was held on October 27 at Unger Village with the new ruling village council, Kosasanger Putu, taking over from Mepongsanger Putu. 

The handing over program was chaired by A Wati Jamir, Chairman, VCC, greetings by T Ojen. G.B, exhortation by T Imti, Tatar, speech on behalf of the newly elected member  by Limasangwa, president, Unger Kosasanger Union, and a short report on the achievement of 1981-2011 by A Wati Jamir, Village Council Chairman Unger.  

Mopongsanger Putu took over from Mejensanger Putu on October 17, 1981. Now, the Kosasanger Putu will shoulder the new generation’s responsibility for governing Unger village for the next 30 years which will be known as Kosasanger Putu.
