IRCSN workshop for dist branches

Indian Red Cross Society Nagaland (IRCSN) state branch organized a two-day branch development workshop for its district branches from October 27 at the administrative training institute, Kohima.

The workshop was attended by the honorary secretaries and branch representatives from eight district and sub-district branches. Two delegates from the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC), Diganta Bujarbaruah, Co-operation Field Officer, ICRC, and Anukha Cumbernous, focal person for NE India, ICRC, also attended the workshop as observers.

IRCSN general secretary Zakie Kire, during his presentation on the topic various challenges and expectation from the district branches on the first day of the workshop, pointed out that IRCSN was the only state branch in the country which give grants to its district branches.
 
The two-day workshop consisted of presentation of activities completed and ongoing by district branches, discussions on activity reporting, financial reporting, project development, resource mobilization, and plan of activities for 2012-13.
IRCSN also lauded IRCS Mokokchung branch for organizing a silent procession to educate the people on the use and misuse of the Red Cross emblem in Mokokchung town earlier.

R.F. Lotha, honorary treasurer and member, managing committee, IRCSN, graced the valedictory programme of the Branch development workshop as the guest of honour. Other managing committee members of the IRCSN present in the function included Dr. R. Zinyü, Malemla Imlong, Kholie Dolf and Zakie Kire, general secretary, IRCSN.
