Innovation in culture, literature must: Moangwati

Commissioner Excise Dimapur Moangwati Aier said innovation in the field of culture and literature was a must today.
Speaking as a chief guest at the 3rd Zoommax management festival organized by School of Management Studies, Nagaland University at SETAM campus, DC Court junction Dimapur on Monday, Moangwati said today the younger generation needed innovation in culture and literature to facilitate development and progress.

Speaking on education, Aier said stress should be made on secular education but with a balance between secular education and religion. Highlighting the relative paucity of literature in the state, he said Nagaland needed more writers and literatures to bring about a transformation and move ahead in the right prospective.

Referring to the impact of globalization, the chief guest said globalization has affected the language and culture of the Nagas and called for a united effort to preserve the language, culture, tradition, literature and history of the Nagas, at the same time, made a plea to the student community to spread the rich culture to other parts of the country and also learn from others.

Highlighting on Zoommax festival, commissioner Excise Dimapur said such platform would be a learning experience for the students and youngsters and help them to evolve culture and literature.

The chief guest also said that since Nagaland was made of different cultures, the students participating in the event would not only learn about the diverse cultures, but the development and progress taking place in the state and the progress of institutions.

“This is a great privilege to share our language, culture and literature”, he said, and further went on to add that the culture of the state was an embodiment of other cultures and such an event would bring them closer. 

Highlighting more about the event, HOD School of Management Studies Ditalak Mpanme said the purpose of organizing the festival was to make a platform for students in and around the state as it would help them practice what they have learned and develop their personality.

Addressing the students as the future leaders, Ditalak urged them to focus on the career they have chosen.
He also informed that the School of Management Studies despite being a single department under Nagaland University has placed students from the previous two batches in various organizations within and outside the state.   

Meanwhile, during the event, various competitions like quiz, essay, extempore, painting, debate, sketch and singing was organized with participation from students all over the state followed by a musical night.

The event was sponsored by NIIT, Kala –G, Pauna Techies, Anchorage guest house Guwahati, Computer Genesis, Directorate of Industry and Commerce Nagaland, World of Titan, Crescendo, Welcome Furniture Dimapur, National Rural Health Mission, Dew Drop and with media partner by Nagaland Post, City Cable and Global Chapter.
