State level media organization formed

A state level media organization has been formed in a consultative meeting held on November 10, at Hotel Saramati, Dimapur.
The meeting was attended by the editors, journalists and non-journalists employees working in the respective media houses in the state.

After thorough deliberation on the proposed need to have a state level organization, the house unanimously agreed to form the association under the name “the Nagaland Press Association” (NPA) and subsequently adopted the draft constitution by the house.

In order to make the association function with immediate effect, an interim team of office bearers was constituted by a consensus decision with the following members:
President – K. Temjen Jamir, vice president – H. Chishi, general secretary – Along Longkumer, assistant general secretary- Tinakali and finance secretary- Dilip Sharma.
NPA, president, K. Temjen Jamir in a release stated that the interim team of the NPA would be responsible for matters relating to membership enrolment, general welfare and conduct formal election within six months according to the constitution adopted on November 10.
