Taking serious note of the statement issued by the CAO, Zeliad Region of the NSCN (I-M) questioning the mandate and legitimacy of the Zeliangrong Baudi (Assam, Manipur, Nagaland), the Baudi in a joint statement issued by ZB president Nagaland K.Akhang; chairman ZB Manipur Thomas Kamei and chairman ZB Assam Zukambe Jeme, have provided the genesis of the formation of the Baudi through a series of meetings culminating in the formation of the Zeliangrong Baudi (Assam, Manipur, Nagaland).
They said the resolution at the 2009 Tamenglong general public convention decided to change the nomenclature of Zeliangrong Union to Zeliangrong Baudi (Assam, Manipur, Nagaland) which was to be formalised at the next general convention in Peren on July 30, 2010.
The signatories further stated a resolution of the Siguilong joint meeting on June 18, 2010 all Zeliangrong frontal organizations AZSU (AMN), ZYF (AMN), senior representatives of NSCN (I-M), NSCN (K) and NNC Zeliangrong Region, resolved to hold the general public convention at Peren, Nagaland.
ZB (AMN) was formally approved at the Peren convention on July 30, 2010 with Pou Gonmei Ningthaodai as convenor and attended by over 1500 delegates that included all frontal organizations, prominent leaders, student leaders and representatives of Zeliangrong villages and towns including T.A. Rongmei the “self style CAO of Zeliad Region”, the signatories said
The signatories said the convention resolved to form new executives of cental, states and zones and for which an election commission was formed. A central executive was also elected on September 23, 2010 at Lodiram Community Hall Halflong, Assam.
In view of the above conventions, the signatories asserted that the ZB (AMN) was a mandated organisation as it was bestowed the responsibility of working for the interest and welfare of the Zeliangrong people. Saying that the statement of the CAO Zeliad Region NSCN (I-M) was “baseless and unfounded”, the signatories asked who was the CAO and in what capacity had he questioned the mandate of the ZB (AMN)?
On the CAO’s caution that the ZB (AMN) should be aware of its involvement with the Zeliangrong United Front (ZUF), they strongly denounced it as having been made without any proof or evidence.
The signatories asserted that the CAO had made the allegation for political mileage and to serve the interests of the others but cautioned he should not take the name of the Zeliangrong Baudi for granted.
They demanded that the CAO Zeliad Region of the NSCN (I-M) provide “full proof and evidences” to support his allegation or else, the Zeliangrong people would be compelled to “ act upon him of which he shall be held responsible.”
ZB (AMN) also slammed the CAO as a “man without principle” and questioned his integrity and one who “goes after position and accumulating money and wealth cannot lead the people and work for the Naga nation.”
They said the CAO had first joined the NNC and later joined the NSCN (K) on the condition he would not be given any position and then joined the NSCN (I-M).
Expressing deep hurt over the CAO for making the statement against his people by “challenging and insulting the mandate of the people,” the signatories demanded that NSCN (I-M) terminate his services for the irreparable damage done to Zeliangrong people.
ZB (AMN) cautioned that failure to accede to the demand for action against T.A.Rongmei would compel it to review its decision against NSCN (I-M) in Zeliangrong region.
