Maruti car meets with accident near Meluri

One Maruti 800 car (AS 25C-7355) on its way from Dimapur to Kiphire fell into a gorge (37 ft) some 5kms away from Meluri on December 6 at around 12:45pm.

The occupants of the car were Kiphire NPF divisional unit general secretary Semato, former president Kiphire area Sangtam students’ union (KASSU) Justin Khatomong and executive chairman Kiphire village students’ union with two other occupants.

However, no serious injuries were reported. According to police, the accident occurred due to the logs placed randomly along the highway. The culprits who were responsible for piling the logs were said to have surrendered to the police at Meluri.
