Government of India (GoI), ministry of rural development, vigilance and monitoring committee members for Nagaland comprising of ex- MLA Medokul Sophie, S. Richard Humtsoe and T. Hayithung Bill Lotha on November 21-22, inspected various ongoing project sites at Phek district.
At the joint meeting with departments and members, deputy commissioner Phek Mikha Lomi expressed satisfaction for embarking on such inspection as it could serve as an eye opener and bring people’s grievances to the forefront.
Those sites inspected areas under land resource are banana plantation, water harvesting units, entry point activity; under PWD (R&B) -Ketsapo-Metsale road, 20 km costing 1 crore ninety three lakhs; under PHE – water treatment plant at Chizami; under social welfare schemes- Losami, Phek village, Ketsapo; under rural development – drainages, footpaths and agriculture link roads.
The team accompanied by line departments heads and officers visited various programme implemented by the ministry comprising district project officer, N. Kihie, PWD (R&B) E.E. Er. Yevikhe, SDO Netsongi, PHE E.E. Er. Kithoshe, social welfare DWO T. Sangtam, CDPO Venedulie Vero, rural development project officer Azenuo, BDO Kuhuluyi Vadeo and Chuba.
