Krishi Vigyan Kendra Tuensang conducts training

Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK), Tuensang organized training on multi-disciplinary subjects for the extension functionaries of agriculture and allied departments under Tuensang district on December 7.

The training topic during the technical round consisted of varied subjects like seed village concept, temperate fruit production, soil and water conservation and on livestock’s and poultry production.

Resource person Martina, SMS (genetic & plant breeding) spoke on ‘Seed Village Concept’ and emphasized on the upcoming importance of seed village in today’s technology for fast changing scenario of agriculture development.

‘Temperate Fruit Production’ with special emphasis on apple and citrus fruit production was presented by resource person Achuchu Khate, SMS (horticulture).

Imtilemla, SMS (soil & water conservation) spoke on the topic ‘Awareness on soil and water conservation’ in context to our Naga hilly terrine’s where there is heavy loss of nutrients from the ‘jhum’ cultivated fields during peak rainy season.

The fourth topic was presented by resource person Sarendi Walling, SMS (animal science) on livestocks and poultry activities for income generation.

Different economically important animals and birds and their management were discussed for income generations during the presentation.
The program was attended by 21 extension functionaries from agriculture, ATMA, soil & water conservation and veterinary and animal husbandry departments.

The program ended with a follow up group discussion and distribution of leaflets, folders, pamphlets etc on different agriculture and allied topics.
