Chief minister Neiphiu Rio has condoled the demise of Imkongmar Aier, retired IAS officer, who passed away Wednesday at Dimapur after a prolonged illness. He was 80. In his condolence message, Rio said: “In his untimely death, the state has indeed lost one of its pioneers and a born stalwart.”
Rio described late Aier as a forthright, bold and outspoken person, and said he was jovial by nature and an administrator of the highest caliber. Rio also conveyed deepest condolences to the members of the bereaved family and prayed Lord Almighty grant them courage and fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.
