Credit counseling camp at Longkhim town

SBI financial literacy and credit counseling camp cum animal management training was held on January 16 at Council Hall; Longkhim Town.
Village council chairmen, Hd. GBs and VDB secretaries from twelve villages under Longkhim, SBI Branch participated along with Farmers’ Club members from seven clusters of villages promoted by Better Life Foundation have attended the training programme.

During the programme R.K. Bhattercharjee; CM, SBI Lead Bank, declared ambitious action plan, for a “Financial Inclusion” for all the villages/families falls within the branch within a time frame of next 3 months; for which he assured all possible support to the branch, since, the branch is facing short of regular staff at the moment.

He also expressed gratitude to all SBI Bank Officials’ C. Ramdingsanga; Manager, SBI, Tuensang,. Imliwati Ao, RMRO, SBI Longkhim Branch staff and Dr. Kevi; Program Coordinator, KVK Tuensang, for their dedication to serve the rural people.

Dr. Kevi Angami, explained the need based information on animal management to the members’ present. Since, SBI with back-in subsidy from NABARD had already sanctioned various animal husbandry projects, like Goatery, Piggery and Backyard Poultry farms “A Micro-Enterprise Development” programme initiated by Better Life Foundation, as part of its rural livelihood development programme, with its objective to secure sustainable rural livelihood through community ownership and participation.

The programme was organised by State Bank of India; Lead Bank, Mokokchung, hosted by Better Life Foundation and so-sponsored by: NABARD with Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK) Tuensang as training partner.
