Full implementation of High Security Registration Plate by June 15

In partial modification of notification dated June 6, 2011, and in compliance with the directive of the Supreme Court of India dated December 8, 2011 and rule 50 of Central Motor Vehicles Rule 1989, Nagaland Governor has notified June 15, 2012 as the date of full implementation of High Security Registration Plate (HSRP) for all kinds of vehicles in the state.

A transport department notification stated that all running vehicles which are registered within the State of Nagaland shall be fixed with High Security Registration Plates at the registering authority office premises or at other notified station.

All vehicles registered prior to June 15, 2011 shall be fitted with High Security Registration Plates latest by June 15, 2012. The cost of High Security Registration shall be borne by the vehicle owners, and the rates shall be as given in the schedule below.
