Mkg district H&FW officials sensitizes on disaster management

In a move to effectively respond to any occurrence of disaster, which is unpredictable, health and family welfare officials under Mokokchung district were given sensitization programme on preparedness and management of disaster at the conference hall of Imkongliba Memorial District Hospital (IMDH) Mokokchung on February 23.
Joint director, Dr. A.L Yanthan and Dr. Chiben, state master trainer of disaster management conducted the day long sensitization programme.
The two trainers shared their vast knowledge on working mechanism, preparedness and multi-pronged approach towards the management of disaster with the help of slide presentation.
Dr. Chiben who had undergone intensive training on disaster management at the national level, in his presentation called upon the medical officers and staff to be always alert stating that the department of health and family welfare officials have to make holistic approach to occurrences of disaster much more than any other department and agency.
He also shared innovative ideas on prioritization of patients for treatment in the post disaster and mobilization of manpower.
Earlier, deputy chief medical officer, Mokokchung Dr. Aka thanked the two trainers for giving an opportunity to the officials and staff of Mokokchung district for preparedness and management of disaster.
He also expressed hope that it would immensely benefit the district.
The programme was attended by Doctors, Nurses and other field staff of the department from the entire district.
