Kohima police arrested a professional motorcycle lifter and recovered three bikes at Peducha police check gate while the bikes were proceeding towards Dimapur early morning Sunday.
According to a statement, PRO, DEF, Kohima said that police personnel posted at Peducha police check gate recovered the three bikes stolen from Kohima when they stopped some “suspicious bikers gang” proceeding towards Dimapur.
The arrested have been identified as Atoka Achumi (22), s/o Pukhato Achumi of Awatsakili village, Zunheboto district, resident of Naharbari, Dimapur. While the other two– Hito (22) of Satoi village, Zunheboto district and Ambu Zhimomi (22) of Awatsakili village, Zunheboto district, resident of Dimapur were “absconding”.
A case, vide Kohima North PS C/No. 0014/12 U/S 379/ 34 IPC was registered and further investigation on.
The recovered bikes were NL-01E-DIE2768 (Yamaha Red Colour), C/No. ME1455026A2011596, E/No. 45S2011515 stolen from Mhonkhola, DL 6S AB-1279 (Pulsar 220 Red Colour), C/No. MD2DHDKVVZPCF02728, E/No. DKGBPF02726 stolen from Jail Colony and NL-01E-3103 (Pulsar 150 Black Colour), C/No. MD2DHDHZZUCF30882, E/No. DHGBUF07823 stolen from ‘D’ Block. Police have directed the “rightful owners” to come forward along with original vehicles documents.
