Police personnel posted at Peducha police check gate at around 3am on February 26 recovered three bikes that were stolen from Kohima and proceeding towards Dimapur.
The recovered bikes include NL-01E-DIE2768 (Yamaha Red Colour), C/No. ME1455026A2011596, E/No. 45S2011515 (2). DL6SAB-1279 (Pulsar 220 Red Colour), C/No. MD2DHDKVVZPCF02728, E/No. DKGBPF02726 and (3). NL-01E-3103 (Pulsar 150 Black Colour), C/No. MD2DHDHZZUCF30882, E/No. DHGBUF07823.
PRO, DEF, Kohima, deputy SP (T) in a press release informed that the police arrested bike lifter Atoka Achumi (22 years), S/o – Pukhato Achumi from Awatsakili village, PS – Atoizu, P/A – Nahalbari, Zunheboto; while, two of the accused namely Hito 22 years from Satoi village, PA – Satoi, Dist. – Zunheboto and Ambu Zhimomi 22 years from Awatsakili village, P/A – NST Dimapur, Dist. – Zunheboto were absconding.
The release further informed that the bikes were stolen from the following localities:- NL-01E-DIE2768 (Yamaha Red Colour) Mhonkhola; DL6SAB-1279 (Pulsar 220 Red Colour) Jail Colony and NL-01E-3103 (Pulsar 150 Black Colour) ‘D’ Block.
In this connection, a case vide Kohima North PS C/No. 0014/12 U/S 379/ 34 IPC was registered for further investigation.
Rightful owners have been directed claim the bikes by producing original vehicles documents.
