Angami Youth Organisation (AYO) has reiterated its stand on banning on hunting and random jungle burning in all Angami inhabited areas.
Though the ban on hunting was imposed throughout the year, AYO said it had kept a relaxation period of two month i.e. January and February during which a village, if it so desired, may permit hunting as decided by the village authority.
However, with the expiry of the relaxation period for hunting, AYO has enforced ban on hunting and jungle burning in their respective areas.
AYO also informed all its range units and village units to be vigilant and punish any violators of the ban as per the rule decided by the range/village.
Meanwhile, AYO expressed gratitude to district administration for continuing the ban on forest fires and imposing a fine of `50,000/- on violators.
AYO stated that it will also give its fullest cooperation to the district administration in enforcing the ban on burning of forests as well as hunting.
AYO expressed gratitude to all Angami ranges as well as the villages for their cooperation and upholding the resolution of AYO presidential council.
