Ricky Martin finds his memoir too painful to read

Gay singer Ricky Martin has admitted that he hasn’t read his own memoir as it brings back painful memories of the sexuality secret he kept hidden from fans for years.

The ‘Sound Loaded’ singer publicly came out as a gay man in the early part of 2010 just before he released his tome, ‘Me’, in which he chronicled his struggles to come to terms with his own identity and shared the truth with the world.

But although the singer’s memoir was released over a year ago, Martin claims that he still hasn’t revisited the book as the project evokes bad memories.

“I had it (book) open on my computer and I started reading a paragraph and had to stop. I had to stop. It reminded me of the place I was when I was writing it,” Contactmusic quoted him as telling The Advocate magazine. However, the pop star is also stated that he is glad that he chronicled his experiences because he knew it would help others.
